Hey Guys, Well i Haven't posted an article in forever. But Hey I'm back. And just a quick note for everyone coxing during this freezing cold season in Canada, and for the rest of you in nice warm places....The best thing to do during a head race is to stay confident because even though the rowers won't admit it, you do know what you are doing and STAY MOTIVATED. They are long and dull at times for both you and the rowers, and they lack the main intensity that sprints have. So keep their heads in race and into the steps to the stroke and rhythm. It will show at the end, and no one will be bored ;)!!!
Now for the rest of you that couldn't coxie this season for whatever reason, may it be you don't have a fall season, or you couldn't let it affect your school.....I'm sure that you are just as bored as I am without rowing and are just dreading having to wait until next Spring just to get on the water (I guess this excludes u lucky ppl who live in warmer areas-boo on you ;) )
So what is there to do other then remanis?? haha I still have no answer to that question...except surround yourself with your rowing memoribilia and pray that the snow melts quickly. Also see if you can start training with the team early if your training season doesn't come till later. The rowers could use an early start and the coach will LOVE you for it.
Also get involved in OTHER things, yes it seems CrAzY!! But it might be fun. Haha and before we know it, WE CAN COX AGAIN!!
Until Next time.......
Row it Till the End!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

However, we stopped taking out coxed boats the beginning of October becuase i have some MAJOR problems with my back (not becuase of coxing). It sucks though because the soonest that high school rowing can start for us is in April (the end of april) and with my actual club it doesnt start until june. The club has been doing winter training and it sucks because I can't do it and it kills me to go to the club and literally only be able to watch. So, hopefully I'll be feeling a bit better soon and can erg. It sucks that Canadians can't always row all year round but hey! Canadian rowers still rock!
